2009 Programs & Events

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Dahlia Society of Alabama or would like more information email Tom Gilbert in Huntsville (phone 256-379-3653) or Jeff Pace in Birmingham. You are also welcome to attend a meeting at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens as a guest. We meet at 7:00 pm on the fourth Thursday of odd numbered months only ( Jan. Mar. May, July,) and a designated date in September to plan our annual show in Ocotober. The September date and other exceptions are noted on the 2009 Programs & Events section. Annual membership dues are $26 per couple or $23 per individual.

Members' Gardens

If you enjoy gardening, it is a sure bet you will love dahlias. When planted in late spring, they will begin to bloom in August and continue until frost. When the flowers of spring and summer are gone, dahlias come into their prime.

Dahlias are grown and shown in organized shows throughout the world. The Dahlia Society of Alabama is one of 70 Chapters of the American Dahlia Society across the United States and Canada.
